The Engineering Product Operations Lead (EPOL) is a newly created role at the heart of Data Platforms’ transformation. EPOL partners with an engineering area of 100–300 people, providing frameworks and support that enable delivery. The position reports to the Head of Portfolio & Business Management for Data Platforms and may involve leading a small team or acting as a senior individual contributor.

What you’ll be doing

  • Alignment & Governance – Own the planning cadence, governance structures, and information flow; track commitments and make governance useful, not bureaucratic.
  • Product Delivery – Keep portfolio progress visible, unblock teams, prioritize work, and investigate divergences between metrics and reality.
  • Teams & Workforce – Balance delivery needs with long‑term skill building, manage contractor and vendor relationships, foster recognition, and develop talent.
  • Risk & Controls – Proactively manage operational, technology, and cyber risk; turn compliance into an enabler of informed risk‑taking.
  • Financial Management – Own budgeting, spend tracking across people, cloud, software, and projects; prioritize sustainable value and ensure financial accuracy and forecasting.

  • Strong planning cadence, governance, and delivery reporting across multi‑team environments, with a knack for simplifying processes.
  • Financial instincts: manage budgets, build forecasts and identify cost impacts.
  • Portfolio‑level risk management, dependency and change oversight without overwhelming teams.
