You’ll bring expert judgement, clear advice and a collaborative mindset to one of the world’s most respected insurance marketplaces. This is a role where your voice counts. And where what you do makes a difference.

What you’ll be part of

You’ll join our Legal – Commercial Team, working within the Data Privacy function and reporting to the Head of Commercial, Legal. We’re trusted advisers to the business—supporting strategy, transformation and day‑to‑day decision‑making while protecting Lloyd’s reputation and managing legal risk. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the Corporation, helping them do the right thing with data. From the start.

What you’ll do

  • Providing expert, pragmatic advice on data privacy matters across the business
  • Building strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure data privacy obligations are understood, embedded and managed effectively
  • Supporting projects and change initiatives by championing privacy by design and identifying risks early, with clear solutions
  • Managing and delivering Data Privacy Impact Assessments, supplier privacy assessments and associated action plans
  • Supporting the investigation and reporting of personal data breaches
  • Managing Transfer Impact Assessments and advising on lawful cross‑border data transfer mechanisms
  • Maintaining accurate records of processing activities and data flow maps
  • Acting as a point of contact for privacy queries, including managing data subject rights requests within statutory timeframes
  • Producing meaningful management information to support risk oversight and decision‑making
  • Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments and translating them into practical, business‑relevant insight

You’ll help us stay compliant. But more than that, you’ll help us stay trusted.

What you’ll bring

  • Deep knowledge of UK and EU data protection frameworks, including GDPR, UK GDPR and DPA 2019
  • Strong experience delivering DPIAs, data flow mapping, ROPA maintenance and data subject access requests
  • Confidence advising on cross‑border data transfers, including SCCs, IDTAs, adequacy and TIAs
  • The ability to explain complex privacy concepts clearly to non‑technical audiences
  • A collaborative approach, with the confidence to influence and challenge constructively
  • Experience working with privacy management tools—OneTrust experience is a plus
  • Experience in insurance, the London Market or another regulated financial services environment is advantageous—but not essential.
  • Professional privacy qualifications (such as CIPP/E or CIPM) are welcomed but not required.

How you’ll lead

  • Promote openness, transparency and strong risk awareness
  • Champion continuous improvement in data privacy governance
  • Act with integrity, delivering within Lloyd’s risk appetites and control frameworks

You’ll be trusted to make sound judgements. And supported when you need it.
