Overview
The Digital & Systems Lead sits within the Group Risk Office as part of the Group Health & Safety team, reporting to the Health & Safety Manager – Enablement & Assurance.
The role supports the continued development of a modern, efficient and insight‑led H&S function by improving how systems, workflows and data operate day‑to‑day within a fast‑paced operational environment with changing priorities and high service demand.
It will strengthen workflow discipline, improve management information and reporting, and develop a more efficient, self‑service and risk‑focused H&S service.
- What you’ll do
- Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of systems, workflows and triage processes across the Health & Safety function, ensuring they are effective, efficient and user‑friendly.
- Build and manage a structured H&S workflow and triage approach, ensuring requests are captured, prioritised, routed appropriately and tracked through to completion.
- Develop and enhance self‑service methods that enable colleagues to access H&S information, guidance and support more easily and consistently at the point of need.
- Improve the quality, structure and visibility of H&S data, reporting and management information, supporting better operational insight and decision‑making.
- Identify and implement opportunities to simplify processes, reduce duplication and manual effort, and improve the overall efficiency and responsiveness of the service.
- Support the integration of systems, processes and data to create a more joined‑up and consistent approach across H&S activity.
Essential criteria
- Proven experience in previous roles focused on digital systems, reporting, data, operational insight or service improvement, with clear evidence of improving management information, visibility or decision‑making in practice.
- Experience of delivering practical improvements to systems, workflows, service processes or reporting arrangements.
- Strong experience of digital tools, shared platforms and reporting processes, including confident use of Microsoft 365, Excel and related platforms for data analysis, visualisation and reporting.
- Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and deliver with accountability.
- Ability to work independently, use sound judgement and implement improvements effectively.
- Proven ability to maintain data quality and produce accurate, reliable reporting and management information.
Desirable skills and experience
- Experience of working with Google Cloud Platform and/or business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience of working with Share Point, Power Apps, Power Automate or the wider Microsoft Power Platform to support digital workflows, self‑service tools or process improvement.
