Role
Cyber Security Consulting Lead within QBE Europe.
The Cyber Security Consulting Lead will provide Cyber Security Technology and Integration Assessment for IT Change Projects using a Secure Design Framework based on the NIST framework.
The role requires collaboration with Architects and Solution Design SMEs to identify cyber threats and gaps in controls and processes.
Deliverables include Secure by Design assessments, Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs), and risk remediation or escalation support across workstreams.
Responsibilities
- Lead security assurance, assessments, and advisory activities for IT and business projects (cloud and on‑premises) against the NIST 800-53 framework.
- Partner with security architecture and other teams to define security patterns and ensure embedded security controls within solutions.
- Develop non-functional security requirements and provide guidance on integration into solution designs.
- Carry out security risk assessments and recommend mitigations to identified risks.
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to correct non-compliant processes and embed secure practices.
- Support strategic global and regional security projects and initiatives within EO and Global security teams.
About you / Qualifications
- Security and risk expertise with experience applying standards such as ISO 2700x, ISO 31000, NIST 800, and PCI-DSS.
- Strong ability to identify security weaknesses and drive mitigations through to secure outcomes.
- Experience working across in‑house and outsourced service models, across multiple time zones and multicultural environments.
- Ability to work independently with appropriate seeking support as needed.
- Preferred: Financial services experience with awareness of APRA, PRA, FCA.
- Certifications (preferred): CISSP, SABSA or equivalent, CCSP or equivalent, CRISC; CISM or other security certifications are advantageous.
