About the Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Cost Engineer to support key project deliverables across our nuclear project portfolio.
You will work alongside subject matter experts, operations managers, and the framework service team to manage cost, risk, and resource requirements.
The role supports hybrid working from our Knutsford or Warrington offices and may involve business travel to UK sites.
Responsibilities
- Accountable to the Project Controls Manager for developing and managing framework projects, ensuring risk, change, resource, and cost alignment with Amentum standards.
- Lead cost‑management activities for major frameworks and key clients across the Energy Division; no direct reports.
- Work within highly regulated environments with rigorous safety standards.
- Develop relationships and maintain networks across internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide results‑focused, team‑centred support to deliver innovative solutions for clients.
Requirements
- Minimum HNC/HND in an engineering discipline or relevant experience.
- Good working knowledge of financial systems and experience across the whole project and programme lifecycle (engineering, procurement, construction, installation/commissioning).
- Understanding of the inter‑relationship between time, cost, and commercial aspects of the project life cycle.
- Ability to reconcile cost information and produce monthly reports to an agreed cycle.
- Proficiency with estimating, scheduling, programming, and risk tools.
- Experience establishing robust WBS and project control structures in line with investment delivery processes, templates, and procedures.
- Knowledge of maintaining and controlling project baselines in accordance with company procedures and guidance.
- Ability to challenge as necessary to ensure compatibility and compliance.
