- Job Overview
As an Electrical Engineer in the Naut IQ Solutions team, you will design and deliver electrical power systems for naval and commercial marine customers.
The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary engineers, presenting technical information, supporting manufacturing and testing, and authoring technical documentation.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and verify power distribution systems and equipment to meet highly demanding specifications.
- Liaise with multidisciplinary engineers to ensure a holistic design process.
- Present technical information and design specifications as part of design review.
- Support manufacturing and testing of electrical products through to delivery.
- Represent the project/company to customers, suppliers, and operators, including occasional travel.
- Author technical documentation, reports, schedules, schematics, etc.
Qualifications
- Degree level or equivalent in electrical field with experience in electrical design techniques.
- Knowledge of AC and DC electrical power distribution systems and components.
- Ability to proactively identify issues and independently apply problem solving techniques.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
- Knowledge of marine and electrical standards (Class Society rules, IEC 61439, Def Stans) is advantageous.
- Professional registration as Incorporated or Chartered Engineer or working toward it is advantageous.
- Experience in design software such as Auto CAD Electrical to generate schematics.
- Ability to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance without caveats.
- Must hold UK nationality.
