Overview

The Cost Engineer will work within the Cost and Forecasting team for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project.

The role supports the implementation of Cost and Forecasting processes and framework across the project, ensuring accurate reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain accurate cost and forecast data aligned with the Cost Break Down Structure or Work Breakdown Structure (CBS/WBS).
  • Maintain all Cost and Forecast data for the assigned area within the Cost and Forecast software system (e. g., Eco Sys, SAP).
  • Coordinate and produce cost and forecast reports within the defined reporting cycle, including commentary on key drivers and performance issues.
  • Assist with the Trend & Change process, performing analysis at the project level, generating performance indicators and providing feedback on risk and opportunities.
  • Deliver clear, concise insights to support decision-making using commercial and technical data.
  • Provide analytical support to Senior Cost Engineers through robust analysis and interpretation of technical, financial, and performance data.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across organisational boundaries to achieve project objectives.

Education, Experience and Skills

  • Minimum of HND or equivalent qualification in project management, project controls, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in a Project Management environment.
  • Understanding of project controls methodologies and techniques.
  • High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and validity of quality data.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a project controls discipline.
