We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer to join our IT department. Reporting into our IT Network Manager, this role will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, optimising, and supporting robust, scalable, secure IT network infrastructure and services that meet the organisation's operational and business goals.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Implement, maintain, and support secure, resilient IT network platforms across the business.
- Configure, upgrade, and optimise network infrastructure including switching, routing, firewalls, load balancing, and associated management platforms.
- Monitor network health, performance, and capacity, and take proactive action to resolve issues before they impact services.
- Lead and support global event deployments, including travel to race locations.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and wider IT teams to understand requirements and deliver effective network services and improvements.
- Maintain a secure IT network environment and support compliance with current data protection, security, and financial control requirements including GDPR, SOX, and ISO 27001.
- Identify operational risks, vulnerabilities, and single points of failure, and implement mitigation actions to improve resilience and service continuity.
- Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning by maintaining accurate technical documentation and contributing to recovery procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network incidents, act as a senior escalation point, and provide expert technical guidance to junior team members and support teams.
- Drive continuous improvement through automation, standardisation, patching, and performance tuning to improve reliability and cost effectiveness.
- Maintain and optimise network performance across on‑premises, WAN, Azure, and AWS environments.
- Assess new tools and technologies and make practical recommendations that improve supportability, efficiency, and service quality.
- Provide technical mentoring, knowledge sharing, and coaching to IT network team members on platforms, tooling, and best practice.
- Be available to support planned and unplanned work outside normal business hours when required.
- Produce clear quarterly updates on operational health, risks, improvements, and priorities for the IT network function.
- Assist with resource planning, emergency support cover, and provisioning activities as required.

- Extensive knowledge of multicast, VXLan, PTP, BGP, OSPF, Ansible.
- Strong working knowledge of Cisco Nexus Dashboard, Arista CloudVision, Cisco ISE.
- Familiar with industry standards and regulations (SOX, GDPR, ISO 27001).
- Expertise in resolving complex technical challenges and optimising system performance.
Desired Experience
- DevOps principles for automation, such as DevNetOps.
Qualifications
- Degree, HND/C in IT related subject (or relevant experience).
- CCNP or equivalent / relevant previous experience.
