Ideal role for a CCNA or a CCNP level engineer looking to expand their knowledge of network, security and cloud technologies. The Network Operations Engineer II will be responsible for supporting CME’s network infrastructure through monitoring, troubleshooting and change implementation using industry standard best practices. The Network Operations Engineer II will ensure the ongoing operation of service to end users and customers by ensuring that service is operated within agreed service levels, and in alignment to agreed policies, processes, and standards. The role will be key to ensuring the overall platform stability and its sustained delivery to clients and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Acts as first responders, helping to organize and control incident response.
- Day to day monitoring and management of our platforms to ensure that internal SLAs, operational KPIs and quality standards are met.
- Handling technical support issues with simple to medium complexity.
- Ability to support network faults to conclusion in a multi-vendor, multi-appliance infrastructure.
- Work closely with other IT teams, vendors, and service providers to resolve incidents and service requests.
- Day-to-day Technical Operations activities (including, but not limited to network and firewall troubleshooting, scripting changes, infrastructure and firmware updates).
- Maintain a positive attitude and a high level of customer service at all times.
- Contribute to the overall development of the operational systems and processes.
- Maintain accurate troubleshooting records through industry standard ticketing systems.
- Writing technical SOPs and other documentation.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience in a fast paced, enterprise NOC role (minimum 2nd line).
- Support experience of LAN & WAN technologies: OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, Layer 2 architectures.
- Exposure to firewalls with an understanding of security posture: firewalling, ACLs, industry best practice, Internet architectures.
- VPN: IPSec and SSL.
- Understanding of Wireless technologies.
- Understanding/experience with ISO and ITIL standards.
- Experience Supporting or Working with Cloud Technologies.
Desirable
- Enterprise R&S certification (Cisco, Juniper, etc.)
- Enterprise Firewall Certification (Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.)
- Enterprise Wireless Certification (Aruba, Meraki, etc.)
- Load Balancing - F5 LB, iRules, persistence, etc.
- Cloud Certification - GCP (Preferable) / AWS / Azure Certification.
- Toolset Management experience (Solarwinds, or similar).
- WCA (Wireshark Certified) - or experience with hardware based packet capture systems.
- Multicast: PIM-SM, MSDP, AnyCastRP.
