We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biochemistry Biomedical Scientist to join our client’s team in Burton, Staffordshire. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a busy NHS biochemistry department, supporting a 24/7 shift system. Your expertise will be essential in performing specialist biochemical analyses, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring accurate and timely diagnostic results.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting biochemical tests on patient samples, validating results, and providing detailed reports to assist in diagnosis and treatment.
- Involved in analyser maintenance, handling phone requests including add-ons, and contributing to all aspects of the quality management system.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care and uphold high standards of laboratory practice in line with NHS protocols.
Qualifications and Experience
- HCPC registration (essential)
- Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent NHS experience is essential
- Post-registration experience in clinical biochemistry
- Completion of or working towards a specialist portfolio in clinical biochemistry (desirable)
- Experience working within a 24/7 shift system
- Familiarity with analyser maintenance and quality control procedures
- Experience using Roche series analysers and Winpath LIMS (advantageous)
