Role Overview

Swiftconnections is seeking a professional, vigilant Door Supervisor to support safe, welcoming venues across Birmingham. You’ll be the first point of contact for customers, helping to maintain a positive atmosphere while preventing and responding to incidents in a calm, lawful, and proportionate manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage entry and exit points, controlling access in line with venue policies and licensing requirements

  • Greet customers professionally, set expectations, and promote a safe and respectful environment

  • Conduct ID checks and apply age-verification procedures (e.g., Challenge 25) where required

  • Monitor crowd behaviour, identify risks early, and de-escalate conflict using effective communication

  • Carry out searches when authorised and appropriate, following legal and venue guidelines

  • Respond to incidents (ejections, refusals, medical issues, disorder) and coordinate with colleagues and management

  • Liaise with police, venue management, and emergency services when necessary

  • Complete accurate incident logs and handover notes, maintaining confidentiality

  • Support queue management, capacity control, and emergency evacuation procedures

  • Maintain a visible security presence and uphold high standards of customer service

  • Basic report writing skills for incident documentation

  • Physical fitness appropriate to the role

Experience

  • 0–5 years’ experience in security, hospitality, retail, events, or customer-facing roles is welcome

  • Newly qualified candidates are encouraged; training and site-specific briefings may be provided

Qualifications & Compliance

  • Valid SIA Door Supervisor licence (required)

  • Right to work in the United Kingdom (required)

  • Willingness to follow venue policies, licensing conditions, and company procedures

Working Pattern & Environment

  • Based in Birmingham, with assignments across venues as required

  • Shift work including evenings, late nights, weekends, and bank holidays

  • Fast-paced environments such as bars, clubs, events, and licensed premises
