Are you a strategic HR Global Head of Learning & Development ready to drive company-wide learning strategy? Do you thrive on leading through transformation, building strong partnerships, and inspiring teams to become more visible, influential, and aligned with business goals? Then we would love to hear from you! The Global Head of Learning & Development (L&D) will lead a team of HR L&D specialists across Europe, Asia, and North America to accelerate the development of a best-in-class, industry-leading center of excellence. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing people strategies that position talent as a key competitive advantage. The role oversees the design, deployment, and delivery of learning programs aligned with business goals, enhances the employee experience, and drives the implementation of a comprehensive, company-wide learning strategy. Together with their team, the Global Head of L&D will play a key role in enabling learning across the organization—enabling technical skill development within business teams, while Global HR focuses on soft skills (behavioral and leadership capabilities). With operational efficiency under scrutiny and delivery excellence well established over the last years, the next step in our L&D evolution is to elevate the function into a strategic partner: this is not about shifting away from operational excellence, but about complementing it with greater strategic impact. The Global Head of L&D will help drive this shift—from a primarily delivery-focused and coordinating role to one that is more visible and influential, in a new regulated environment for Swift as of 2026. This includes partnering with business leaders to enable or sometimes co-create learning ecosystems aligned with strategic priorities and orchestrate a global community of learning experts to amplify learning across the organization. Key Responsibilities
- Strategy development and execution: Develop, execute and continuously review a comprehensive L&D strategy aligned with organizational goals (including readiness for regulation in 2026 or AI impact on soft skills) ensuring evolving business priorities – and market dynamics.
- Global learning ecosystem & operational excellence: Lead the evolution of the role of Global L&D function, balancing global consistency with regional relevance. Elevate the role of Global L&D to a strategic partner for the business. Foster operational excellence and collaboration across geographies and business units.
- Data-driven learning & AI-enhanced digital solutions: Collaborate with the HR People Analytics team to capture, analyze, and act on learning data, generating insights that inform talent strategies and measure impact. Leverage AI and emerging technologies to personalize learning experiences, enhance program effectiveness, and continuously evolve the Learning Management System (LMS) to meet future skills needs.
- Team leadership and capability building: Lead, inspire, and continue to develop a high-performing L&D team, fostering a culture of collaboration, responsible innovation in an Agile environment, and continuous growth.
- Stakeholder engagement & external benchmarking: Build strong internal networks (HR partners, local L&D and business leaders) and external partnerships to benchmark best practices, evolve the L&D offering, and position the organization as a learning leader
- Leadership, management & talent development program design: Design and deliver impactful programs to develop current and future leaders, enhance managerial effectiveness, and support the growth of high-potential talent across the organization.
- Leaning path & on-boarding enablement: Create and implement targeted learning programs to create personalized/employee clusters learning experiences supporting employee growth and business needs. Explore opportunities to enhance on-boarding solutions to accelerate new hire integration.
- Organizational feedback: Design, implement, and manage companywide surveys—such as employee engagement, upward feedback, and leadership effectiveness—to gather actionable insights.
- Budget and vendor management: Oversee the L&D budget to ensure cost-effective investments and operational efficiency. Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors including LMS providers
Qualifications/Professional skills requirements:
- Bachelor or Master degree
- Strategic vision: Ability to think strategically and execute on that vision using innovative approaches and the latest technologies including AI.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Analytical skills: Strong analytical skills to assess training needs and measure the impact of L&D programs.
- L&D knowledge and market trends: Deep understanding of L&D practices – including the evolution towards skills-based organization – and trends.
- Team leadership: Proven leadership experience and build-up of high performing teams multi-located. Able to inspire virtual teams.
- Communication skills: Excellent communication skills towards various audiences, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with stakeholders. Story-telling as a way to convey inspiring messages.
