Role Overview
We are looking for a Business Analyst with strong experience in API Lifecycle Management to work closely with product managers, architects, developers, and platform teams. The role focuses on defining, documenting, and governing APIs across their full lifecycle—from ideation and design through build, publication, versioning, and retirement—ensuring consistency, usability, security, and alignment with business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for APIs and API platforms
- Define API use cases, consumer journeys, and business flows
- Collaborate with architects and engineering teams on API design standards, contracts, and specifications (OpenAPI/Swagger)
- Support API lifecycle stages (Ideation, Design & Review, Testing, Publication & Onboarding, Versioning)
- Produce high-quality documentation including BRDs, Functional Specifications and Consumer Documentation
- Work with governance teams to ensure APIs meet security, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with internal and external API consumers to capture feedback and improve usability
- Support API change management, impact analysis, and release communication
- Act as a bridge between business, product, and technology teams
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in technology-driven environments
- Strong hands-on experience with API-based architectures and integration concepts
- Solid understanding of API lifecycle management and API governance
- Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, HTTP, OAuth2, and related standards
- Familiarity with API tools and platforms
- Strong documentation skills with attention to clarity and structure
- Experience working in Agile / Scrum delivery models
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Nice to Have
- Experience in payments, banking, or financial services
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures and async APIs
- Exposure to developer portals and API monetization models
- Consulting or platform transformation experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field
