We are seeking a reliable and physically fit rail port operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with materials handling, loading and unloading goods, and maintaining a safe and organised port environment. The role is outdoors, in ALL weather conditions. This is a temporary to permanent position for the right candidate with a lot of career progression.
Working hours:
- 3 week rota
- 06:00-14:00 - £15.45
- 14:00-22:00 - £15.45
- 22:00-06:00 - £16.70
PLEASE Note: an enhanced DBS check is required for this position!
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the movement and positioning of trailers within the port yard.
- Clean containers, train carriages.
- Ensure the yard port is maintained in a safe, clean, and organised condition at all times.
- Loading/unloading/heavy lifting.
- Work in all weather conditions.
Skills and Experience:
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods.
- Previous experience working in a transport yard, warehouse, or logistics environment is a bonus.
- Ability to work outdoors in ALL weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
