This Machine Operative position is being advertised by Swift Temps Ltd, trading as an Employment Agency. We are seeking 4 x experienced time served Machine Operatives to join our clients manufacturing team in Hortonwood, Telford working NIGHT shift from 6am to 6pm.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machinery used to manufacture food packaging within a fast paced, modern setting. These positions are starting immediately on a long term, temp to perm basis for individuals with a background operating multiple machines across various production lines with the skills and ability to record output whilst working to strict production deadlines/targets.

Suitable candidates will be required to multitask, have material handling, quality control and manufacturing experience with availability to work every other weekend as per rota.

Duties:

  • Operate a range of manufacturing machinery and equipment
  • Set up, adjust, and monitor machinery to ensure optimal performance and product quality
  • Handle materials efficiently, including loading, unloading, and organizing materials
  • Accurately record and report production levels, downtime and output
  • Assemble finished goods packaging
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Utilize basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checks during production processes

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Proven experience machine operating within the past 12 months, 2 plus years within similar setting is essential
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for measurements and quality control purposes
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure precision in all tasks
  • Good understanding of safety procedures within a manufacturing setting

Hours/ Day:

Hours: 6am to 6pm (NIGHT SHIFT ONLY)

Days of Work: 5 ON / 2 OFF. This position will involve working 2 weekends a month (working 5 days in one week and 2 days in the following week).

Pay:

Starting rate £15.01ph, increasing up to £15.15 within first 3 months. Overtime rate: £22.51ph. As per above due to our client trading 7 days a week, some weekend work is required with shift pattern calculating an average of 15 working days / 165 hours per month.
