Quality Inspection SupervisorLocation: DarlastonPay: £15.40 per hourJob Type: Full-time, PermanentSwift Temps are recruiting for an experienced Quality Inspection Supervisor to join a busy automotive operation in Darlaston.
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of inspection and containment activities on-site, leading a team of inspectors and acting as the key link between the inspection team, management and the customer.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading daily inspection and containment activities on-siteAllocating inspectors to jobs based on workload, priority and skillsEnsuring inspections are completed accurately and within customer deadlinesManaging shift handovers and maintaining continuity across shiftsResponding quickly to urgent quality issues and potential line stoppagesChecking inspection results and documentation for accuracyIdentifying defects, trends and recurring quality issuesSupporting containment, sorting and rework activitiesActing as the main on-site contact for customer representativesProviding regular updates on job progress, issues and resultsSupervising, supporting and motivating the inspection teamConducting shift briefings and toolbox talksMonitoring attendance, timekeeping and performanceManaging staffing levels, shift schedules, overtime and workloadCompleting daily reports and maintaining accurate recordsMonitoring KPIs including productivity, quality and defect ratesEnsuring all site, health & safety and PPE requirements are followedIdentifying opportunities to improve efficiency and qualityAbout You We're looking for someone with: At least 2 years' supervisory/team leader experience4 years' experience within quality inspectionAt least 2 years' automotive experienceExperience working within a manufacturing, automotive or quality inspection environmentA good understanding of inspection processes and quality standardsStrong communication and organisational skillsThe ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environmentExperience managing and supporting a teamA valid FLT licenceSAP experience would be advantageousThis is a hands-on supervisory role, so you'll need to be comfortable getting involved on the shop floor, dealing with customers and responding quickly when priorities change.
