Waste Collection Van Driver – Waste & Recycling (Barnsley) Employer: SWIFT Temps Ltd – Driving Recruitment Division Location: Barnsley Pay Rate: £13.26 per hour (PAYE) Hours: Tuesday to Friday, 6:45am – 5:25pm (40 hours per week) Job Type: Full-time, Ongoing Contract About the Role: SWIFT Temps Ltd is currently recruiting a reliable and experienced Van Driver to support the Waste & Recycling services for the local authority in Barnsley. This is a great opportunity to join a well-organised team, working a structured four-day week with full-time hours. You will be responsible for the collection of commercial waste bins and bulky household waste, ensuring safe, timely, and efficient waste removal across designated routes. Key Responsibilities: * Drive a waste collection van to complete scheduled rounds * Collect commercial bins and bulky household waste items from residential and business locations * Work closely with a small team to ensure all routes are completed efficiently * Carry out manual loading and lifting tasks in various weather conditions * Conduct daily vehicle safety checks and report any faults * Follow all health & safety protocols and operational procedures Requirements: * Full UK driving licence (Category B) with no more than 6 points * Minimum 1 year’s experience driving vans or similar vehicles * Physically fit and comfortable with active, hands-on work * Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious * Previous experience in waste collection or similar work is desirable but not essential
