This is a Swift Temps vacancy who are operating as an employment agency. We are looking for an experienced Transport Operations Manager to join our client\’s busy transport team and ensure smooth, cost-effective, and compliant operations. You’ll be responsible for delivering outstanding service to customers while maintaining the highest standards in safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. This is a fast-paced role, perfect for someone with strong leadership skills, a background in logistics or FMCG, and the drive to get the best out of their team. Key Responsibilities Operational Management * Oversee daily transport operations, ensuring cost control, on-time delivery, and service excellence. * Manage fleet readiness, compliance, and performance to meet customer and business needs. * Analyse daily crew schedules for optimal efficiency and productivity. Cost & Service Delivery * Control labour usage and operational costs in line with budget. * Deliver agreed customer specifications with minimal waste. * Implement changes to meet evolving customer requirements. Compliance & Safety * Ensure full compliance with legal, health & safety, and company standards. * Oversee vehicle servicing, MOTs, and defect management. * Conduct audits and implement corrective actions where needed. People Leadership * Lead, motivate, and develop your team to achieve KPIs. * Identify training needs and ensure mandatory training is completed. * Manage performance issues and foster a positive, safe, and productive work environment. About You * Proven experience in a management role within logistics, FMCG, or a similar fast-moving environment. * Strong people management skills – able to inspire, coach, and manage performance effectively. * Fleet management experience. * Excellent problem-solving skills and a solutions-driven mindset. * Organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure. * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. * Flexible with working patterns to meet operational demands. Essential Qualifications * Road Haulage Transport Manager CPC (Standard National). * Proficient in MS Office. Desirable: * IOSH Managing Safely. * Knowledge of warehousing/distribution systems, transport regulations, and cost control. Working Hours: 3 rotating shifts, 40hrs per week (Mon-Fri) 5am – 1.45pm 9am – 5.45pm 11am – 7.45pm To apply, please submit your CV for consideration
