Overview
Our prestigious Hereford-based client is currently seeking Trainee Injection Moulding Technicians to join their busy and expanding team.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the Injection Moulding Team with the development of new tooling and moulding programs.
- Safe and efficient tool changes (last off through to first off) of existing tools using pre-set programs.
- Ensure that all ancillary machinery is set up correctly.
- Material handling, including material and colour changes, mixing, drying and granulating.
- Ensure and confirm that first off\’s meet relevant quality standards.
- Utilisation of staff to assist with tool changes, material changes, and general operation of the department.
- Actively participate in process improvement activities.
Additional Tasks / Areas for Development of Role
- Must be able to start-up and shut-down the entire department including moulding machines and all ancillary equipment.
- Ability to develop an understanding of all aspects of the process, tooling and materials.
- Accurate recording and reporting of shift production metrics
- Troubleshooting and fault correction through machine settings.
- Setting up and programming robots and sprue pickers
Knowledge, Experience & Skills you will learn
- Understand the characteristics of the materials used
- Good Understanding of the injection moulding process.
- Experience using Engel injection moulding machines and robots.
- Recognise process faults & component defects and understand what is required to rectify them
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, Full-time, Permanent
3-6 month training plan – £12.65 per hour for the duration of training – working day shifts.
Upon completion of training – £13.91 per hour – moving to a 2 shift rotation: 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00
(potential for 3 shifts in future – 06:00-14:00 / 14:00-22:00 / 22:00-06:00)
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
