As a refuse collector or loader, it would be your job to remove waste and/or recyclables from homes and businesses and take it away for disposal or recycling. If you are physically fit and can work well in a team, this job might suit you.
In this job you will need to be able to work quickly and cleanly. You will also need to be professional and polite with the public.
You will work as part of a small team, collecting waste from a different local area each day of the week. Your key tasks would include:
* Moving bags, wheelie bins and recycling bins and boxes
* Using a lifting mechanism to tip the waste from bins into the lorry
* Throwing plastic bags into the back of the lorry
* Crushing the waste
* Sorting recyclable materials at the curbside
* Guiding the driver safely around the streets
* Reporting any problems with waste collections
* Helping to unload the waste at designated facilities
* Recording the amount of waste collected
Working times are 6.15am to finish -38 hours per week- To work Tuesday to Friday
Pay rates £13.29
