SWIFT Temps Ltd Driving Recruitment Division is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced HGV Class 1 Shunter Driver based at their busy Keighley site. This is a permanent, full-time role working Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday shifts.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing business. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth movement of wagons and trailers around the depot and loading areas, supporting the dispatch operation efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operating a Terberg shunter and Class 1/Class 2 vehicles around site
  • Moving wagons and trailers safely and efficiently throughout the yard
  • Organising vehicle movements in line with dispatch schedules
  • Managing trailer parking and loading bay availability
  • Supporting the smooth running of warehouse and transport operations
  • Carrying out vehicle checks and maintaining safety standards
  • Working effectively within a fast-paced yard environment
Requirements
  • Valid UK Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence
  • Valid CPC qualification
  • Maximum of 6 penalty points
  • Previous shunter experience preferred, although full training can be provided
  • Strong awareness of health & safety procedures
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work efficiently under pressure
  • Good communication and organisational skills
Shift Pattern
  • Tuesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday
  • Average 8–10 hour shifts
  • 32–40 hours per week
Pay & Benefits
  • £16.02 per hour basic rate
  • Additional £1.00 per hour performance bonus after training completion
  • Permanent full-time opportunity
