We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Injection Moulding Toolmaker to join our Toolroom team on the day shift. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with modern injection moulding equipment.
Working Hours
- Monday β Thursday: 7:00am β 5:00pm
- Friday: 7:00am β 3:00pm
- Overtime: Regular overtime available, including weekends
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all aspects of toolroom work, including maintenance, repair, and modification of injection mould tools
- Work on hot runner systems, including servicing, fault finding, and troubleshooting
- Diagnose and rectify tool and process-related issues on the shop floor to minimise downtime
- Operate manual centre lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and universal grinding machines
- Support production by responding promptly to tool breakdowns and urgent issues
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on tooling
- Manufacture and fit replacement components as required
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, accuracy, and housekeeping
- Work with minimal supervision and manage workload effectively when no breakdowns are present
- Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures at all times
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as an Injection Moulding Toolmaker
- Strong background in manual machining (turning, milling, surface and universal grinding)
- Experience working with hot runner systems and complex injection mould tools
- Ability to diagnose faults quickly and implement effective solutions
- Good understanding of injection moulding processes and tooling
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate self-motivation
- Reliable, hardworking, and trustworthy with a strong work ethic
Qualifications & Training
- A recognised engineering apprenticeship is essential
- Relevant trade qualifications preferred
- Full site-specific training will be provided
- Initial training period of three months on days
