Swift Temps are currently looking for a Lead Operator to join a busy production team based in Hereford. The overall purpose of this role is to produce, visually inspect and pack good quality products in line with written and verbal instructions. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating machinery, completing quality checks, maintaining production standards, and supporting the wider shift team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery and input dimensions on the HMI screen.
  • Pack finished products according to packaging specifications.
  • Maintain the work area to a high standard, ensuring it is clean, tidy and safe at all times.
  • Conduct visual checks on each part during manufacture to identify any defects and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Carry out regular length checks on each part during manufacture to ensure compliance.
  • Immediately log any failures and report a detailed count of failures.
  • Complete production documentation efficiently and accurately.
  • Support the shift team with any other tasks as requested.
  • Attend training courses as and when required.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment would be beneficial.
  • An NVQ in Manufacturing Operations would be advantageous.
  • A Counterbalance Forklift certificate would be advantageous.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Reliable, flexible and able to work as part of a team.

Training

Full training will be provided.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday on a 3-shift rotation:

  • 06:00–14:00
  • 14:00–22:00
  • 22:00–06:00

Pay

£13.25 per hour, with overtime paid after 37.5 hours at time and a quarter.
