SWIFT Temps Ltd is currently recruiting for an experienced Class 2 LGV Driver to join the waste and recycling team supporting the local authority in the Harrogate area. This is an ongoing role, offering consistent work and a structured four-day week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of the Waste Collection Team based at Harrogate, Claro Road Depot, HG1, you will safely carry out waste collections across the area, including the collection of all waste and recyclables from household and commercial properties.
  • Drive a refuse collection vehicle on assigned rounds.
  • Work as part of a team collecting domestic waste and recyclables.
  • Must be prepared to work as a collector when needed.
  • Carry out a variety of physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions.
  • Maintain high safety standards and compliance with operational procedures.
  • You must be able to walk distances of a minimum of 8 to 10 miles per day, push and pull bins of various sizes over various distances and gradients in all weather conditions.
  • It is essential to have a good understanding of health and safety requirements in the workplace and possess the necessary skills in terms of excellent customer care to represent the Council in the delivery of front-line services.
  • You will be required to input daily updates on the Bartec ‘in cab’ system and report contamination, participation of collections and ensure that customers receive the appropriate information, bin tag, leaflet etc.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of Class 2 (LGV) driving experience.
  • Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
  • Valid UK Driving licence, Driver CPC and Digital Tacho Card.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks.
  • Previous refuse or recycling driving experience is desirable.
