Swift Temps are seeking an experienced Sliding Head CNC Turner Setter/Operator on behalf of our client, a leading precision engineering company. You will be responsible for setting and operating STAR sliding‑head CNC lathes, producing high‑quality components to tight tolerances in a busy, quality‑focused environment.
This role focuses on setting and running machines, performing tooling changes, adjusting offsets, and monitoring quality. You are not responsible for creating new CNC programmes from scratch.
Responsibilities- Setting of CNC Turning Star Sliding Head machines
- Set up and operate CNC turning machines to produce precision parts
- Loading and running of machines
- Proven experience setting and operating sliding‑head CNC lathes (STAR machines preferred)
- Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Skilled working to tight tolerances in a high‑precision environment
- Competent with precision measurement instruments (micrometers, verniers, gauges)
- Self‑motivated, accurate, and able to work independently or within a team
- Experience with Mazak/Mazakrol CNC controls
- Exposure to live tooling or multi‑axis turning environments
