Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our clients team in maintaining and enhancing outdoor environments. This role involves working across various sites to ensure landscapes are well-kept, safe, and visually appealing. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and practical skills in landscape maintenance, with the ability to operate a range of tools and machinery. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in outdoor work, gardening, and environmental upkeep.
Key Responsibilities
- Driving vehicle with or without trailers, ride-ons and the use of machines and mechanical, powered or manually operated pedestrian or hand-held equipment carrying out daily checks as required reporting any faults to Management.
- Duties to include grass cutting with petrol powered machinery including strimmers, pedestrian mowers and stander mowers along with general grounds maintenance activities.
- Must hold a valid UK driving license with category B entitlement.
- Carry out grounds maintenance tasks such as strimming, litter picking, and general upkeep of public spaces.
- Support street cleansing duties as needed.
- Work efficiently outdoors in various weather conditions.
- To be customer focused and deal with exchanges of information in a polite, courteous and positive manner responding where possible to minor requests for service and where necessary report problems to line manager.
Requirements
- Full UK driving license (Category B).
- Experience with grounds maintenance equipment.
- Good timekeeping and a strong work ethic.
- Comfortable with manual outdoor work in all weathers.
