The Access Cluster is looking for highly skilled and motivated candidates to join the Web Platform squad (based in Belgium/London). You will have the opportunity to work on a product that is used by most top financial institutions in the world and is key in the digital economy of today.
As a Test Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic software development team environment where your testing skills will be crucial to the delivery of mission critical financial software to the global financial industry following structured development approaches in Agile methodologies.
You will undertake Testing/Automation/DevOps activities of medium to high complexity related to different software components and versions. You will be required to do development work related to software testing frameworks. Given the mission critical nature of our business, strong emphasis is placed on quality, security, availability, resiliency, scalability, performance, and system resources consumption. It is expected that suitable candidates adhere to a structured testing environment and will actively contribute to delivering software to the quality expectations of our customers.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. developers and product owner) to identify system requirements, develop effective strategies and test plans
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
- Automate test cases using appropriate testing frameworks and tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
- Effectively use AI assistants during test design, automation and testing activities
- Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
- Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
- Design, develop, execute and maintain test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results
- Identify, document, and track software defects using a bug tracking system, working closely with development teams for resolution
- Support CI/CD-integrated test execution and help troubleshoot automation failures
What will make you successful?
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field of computing (IT, Computer engineering, Computer Science, Informatics)
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in testing and/or software development
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices
- Experience with the Selenium test automation frameworks
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Java, Python)
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks is an added advantage
- Testing methodology certification (e.g. ISTQB) is an added advantage (or an asset)
- Analytical mind and problem-solving attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Open-minded, solutions oriented, and a true team player gaining energy through collaboration with others
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal relations, sense of responsibility, commitment and customer focus
- Ability to prioritize work independently based on business impact and urgency
- Ability to take proactive actions and have positive attitude
Testing background with experience or knowledge of following are nice to have:
- Basic knowledge in functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, performance testing
- Familiar with test management tools (e.g. JIRA, X-Ray), confluence
- Agile Mind-set: You like to learn and continuously improve the way we work
- Team-oriented: you take pride from team achievements and are ready to support and be supported by your team-mates
- Very good communication skills, including remote meeting setups
- Curious, eager to learn and to educate others
Essential Technical Skills:
- Development: Basic Java knowledge
- Test Automation framework: Selenium
- Dev Ops: Ansible, CI/CD Jenkins pipelines
- Artificial Intelligence prompting
- Basic knowledge on POSIX and Windows Commands
- Admin: test reports, Xray tests, designing test cases.
Essential Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills with a mastery of spoken and written English are mandatory
- Adaptability and responsiveness to change
- Ability to work with a team in an Agile environment
- Good problem-solving skills and a strong adherence to quality and operational excellence
- Eagerness to learn and understand
