AI Governance Lead

The AI Governance Lead will support the development and implementation of AI governance frameworks, processes, and controls that align with regulatory requirements and internal standards.

Working in a small team, the role contributes to high‑impact initiatives that shape how the organisation adopts and governs AI, navigating ambiguous areas and turning complexity into clear, practical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver defined AI governance activities independently, ensuring timely, accurate and high‑quality outputs.
  • Work closely with business use case owners to manage dependencies, priorities and risks, maintaining momentum and quality.
  • Contribute to risk assessments, governance reviews and control activities for AI‑enabled use cases, identifying issues and escalating risks appropriately.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of AI governance frameworks, policies, taxonomies and operating processes.
  • Collaborate with product, technology, legal, compliance, risk, data science and security colleagues to foster a culture of AI excellence and responsible innovation.
  • Help maintain monitoring, reporting and documentation activities to track governance progress, key risks and compliance with internal standards.
  • Contribute ideas to improve team processes, share knowledge with colleagues and support a culture of learning and operational effectiveness.
  • Promote ethical AI principles and ensure AI systems are designed and used fairly, transparently and accountably.
  • Represent the organisation in industry forums and collaborate with external experts to stay updated on AI trends and best practices.
