This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to step into a stable, long-term position where you'll work on a varied fleet of specialist vehicles and equipment within a modern, well-equipped workshop.
Unlike many mechanic roles, this position offers an excellent work-life balance with no weekend working, flexible working hours, early finish on Fridays and a comprehensive benefits package.
The Role Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance, servicing, fault diagnosis and repairs across a range of vehicles and mechanical equipment, ensuring everything remains safe, reliable and operational.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys problem solving, takes pride in high-quality workmanship and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a close-knit engineering team.
Key Responsibilities Carry out routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance.
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
Complete repairs across a varied fleet of vehicles and equipment.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation.
Support equipment reliability through planned maintenance programmes.
Assist with inspections and safety checks to ensure equipment remains fully operational.
Work alongside external contractors when specialist support is required.
Help maintain workshop stock levels, tools and equipment.
Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
Keep up to date with new vehicle technologies and attend training where required.
About You We're keen to speak with candidates who have: A recognised qualification or apprenticeship in Vehicle Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Previous experience working as a mechanic within automotive, commercial vehicle, plant or industrial environments.
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems would be advantageous.
A proactive approach and the ability to work well within a team.
A commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship and safety.
