Role Purpose:
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for achieving sales budgets and targets within a designated region and assigned customer accounts. The role focuses on maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers while identifying opportunities to grow new business. The Regional Sales Manager is accountable for managing all commercial activity within the region, promoting the company's products and services, and delivering sustainable sales growth.
Minimum Requirements and Experience:
  • Proven experience in regional sales, key account management, or business development.
  • Experience managing customer accounts and achieving sales targets and budgets.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate pricing and commercial agreements.
  • Experience developing and maintaining long-term customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to influence key decision-makers and stakeholders.
  • Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Good planning, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to analyse sales performance, product mix, profitability, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel within the assigned region.
  • Knowledge of the water, utilities, infrastructure, or related industries would be advantageous.
Duties:
Sales and Business Development:

  • Achieve agreed sales budgets, objectives, and targets for the assigned region and customer accounts.
  • Manage product sales in line with company objectives and targeted product mix.
  • Develop and implement customer engagement strategies for key accounts.
  • Promote the company's products and services to contractors, utilities, distributors, and end users.
  • Identify opportunities to establish commercial agreements and increase product sales through existing and new distribution partners.
  • Attend relevant industry association meetings, conferences, and networking events.
  • Arrange and conduct customer meetings, presentations, and business reviews.
  • Develop and maintain customer service agreements in collaboration with internal departments to ensure service excellence.
  • Respond promptly to customer enquiries, complaints, and requests, ensuring issues are escalated and resolved appropriately.
  • Work within approved pricing, discount structures, and delegated authority levels.
  • Prepare, submit, and follow up on quotations and sales opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers through professional engagement, customer visits, and appropriate business hospitality.
  • Support customer satisfaction surveys and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities.
Key Account Management:
  • Manage the overall business relationship with assigned accounts, including:
    • Sales turnover
    • Profitability
    • Product mix
    • Pricing
    • Payment performance
    • Project management
    • Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
    • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Develop and implement customer account plans to maximise growth opportunities.
Leadership and Communication:
  • Lead quarterly business review meetings with key customers.
  • Communicate progress against account plans, objectives, and budgets on a regular basis.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports on customer activities and sales performance.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Deliver customer product training where required.
  • Manage customer price increases in accordance with contractual agreements and renewal schedules.
  • Effectively plan and manage the assigned sales territory to maximise productivity and customer engagement.
Operational Excellence:
  • Record all customer interactions, meetings, and activities within the CRM system.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer information and action plans.
  • Develop, review, and execute customer and product growth plans in collaboration with commercial and market sector teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with company processes and procedures.
