We are recruiting for 2 experienced Manufacturing Engineers to join our team!

This role involves working alongside stakeholders from the manufacturing team to ensure a smooth, efficient, and timely build of manufactured products and components within the production environment. You will advise and enforce stringent engineering standards to ensure our products are built OTIF (On Time In Full) and to our exacting quality standards. The ideal candidates will be experienced Manufacturing Engineers who will challenge the status quo to pioneer new ways of working and support a relentless focus on modularity, standardisation, and waste reduction. We are looking for talented Engineers who are comfortable in operating in a fast‑paced and demanding production environment producing volumes of circa 4000 caravans, 2000 holiday homes, and 2000 motor homes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Triage and problem‑solve all technical issues as they arise, minimising disruption and delays within production.
  • Discuss issues with relevant departments such as logistics, SQA, and product engineering as required.
  • Actively increase production efficiencies and continuously look for ways to reduce costs, improve quality, and minimise disruption to build.
  • Ensure all engineering issues are handled via the Manufacturing Projects Engineer for further investigation and resolution.
  • Implement engineering change activities and maintain Kanban bins.
  • Maintain and enhance existing jigs and tooling setups.
  • Provide critical process training support for complex processes.
  • Validate time and motion studies undertaken by the Industrial Engineering team.
  • Draft and update process documentation to describe standard operating procedures.
  • Develop, introduce, and enforce technical standards across a range of complex products and processes.
  • Conduct evaluations of mid‑season change proposals through the engineering evaluation process.
  • Update existing PFMEAs and implement control plans to ensure consistent quality outcomes.
  • Maintain COSHH requirements across production areas, and compliance with Health & Safety requirements.
  • Actively pursue waste in all its forms and implement action plans to reduce or remove entirely.
  • Support continuous improvement processes instigated by the Manufacturing Project Engineer, attending Quality Focus Group sessions and contributing to successful outcomes.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Qualified in the use of CAD, or experience of CAD drawings within a drawing office.
  • Knowledge of caravan or similar furniture construction, materials & engineering practices in the industry.
  • Knowledge of BOMS.
  • Experience of using engineering change (MIR) systems.
  • Has an understanding and interest of technical advances in some relevant areas such as new materials and weight savings.
  • Minimum time‑served engineer or apprenticeship graduate.
  • Degree in an Engineering discipline or other relevant Engineering qualification (i.e., HNC, HND) preferred.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification is desirable.
  • Minimum three years of manufacturing experience within the caravan, automotive, or analogous industries.
  • Experience with best‑practice engineering tools and techniques.
  • Practical skills with knowledge and capabilities to use typical production equipment and tools.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Highly driven self‑starter with an ability to deal with problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Good interpersonal skills and robust when technical and quality matters.
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to negotiate, plan, and manage resources.
  • Ability to work under pressure, to deadlines, whilst maintaining process disciplines.
  • Fully IT literate, ideally with advanced skills in MS Office and Project software.
