Location: Swift Group. Department: Logistics. Swift Group is currently recruiting a Stock Auditor to join our busy Logistics team. This is a key role responsible for ensuring stock accuracy, effective storage management, and the efficient control of obsolete products. If you have strong logistics experience, a sharp eye for detail, and enjoy working in a fast-paced warehouse environment, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain all material storage locations, ensuring First In, First Out (FIFO) methodology is followed.
  • Ensure stock accuracy by conducting cyclic counts and full stocktakes in line with the system stocktaking matrix.
  • Perform stock audits using location-to-stock and stock-to-location methodologies, capturing and investigating discrepancies.
  • Carry out ad hoc inventory investigations where accounting anomalies arise, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Complete accounting transactions to resolve stock discrepancies (surpluses and shortages), escalating significant variances for management authorisation.
  • Identify, segregate, and prepare obsolete materials for disposal or onward sale following approval from the Obsolete Committee.
  • Ensure all Reorder Levels (ROL) are reduced to zero for obsolete items to prevent automated MRP replenishment.
  • Report surplus stock to Material Controllers to support order cancellations and stock usage.
  • Verify the condition, quality, and quantity of returned products and confirm suitability for future production or aftersales use.
  • Support delivery checks where recurring anomalies have been identified.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a logistics or warehouse environment is essential.
  • Strong understanding of basic logistics principles and material accounting.
  • Experience using logistics IT systems for stock control and inventory management.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and perform well under pressure.
  • A strong team player with clear communication skills.
  • Reliable, committed, and proactive in supporting production sustainability.
  • Willing and able to undertake manual handling, work at heights (e.g. warehouse steps), and operate in environments with moving vehicles such as forklifts and delivery trucks.
  • Forklift Truck licence is desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
  • Comfortable using material handling equipment such as movers and stackers.
