THE OPPORTUNITY

Material Control Administrator - Fixed Term Contract

Team Swift are recruiting for the role of Material Control Administrator based at our HQ, this role is a fixed-term contract.

This role will provide administrative support to the Material Control team by ensuring all supplier information, with a focus on delivery dates, is up to date and accurate at all times.

Expediting urgent orders and coordinating the information flows between the Material Control team and other internal departments including Production, Logistics and Procurement.

Working with a team of 3 material planners for the Material Control Manager, within the supply chain function.

This role will be based on-site full-time, as the key point of contact for all stock availability queries.

Providing the liaison for information between suppliers, production, logistics and other internal stakeholders.

  • MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Placing and chasing urgent order requirements with suppliers
  • Placing orders for bulk items
  • Monitoring forecasted shortages and liaising with suppliers and materials planners to ensure any gaps are mitigated
  • Issuing schedule changes to suppliers
  • Issuing and progressing order books to ensure all delivery dates are up to date and accurate
  • Ensuring all data in systems and reports is kept up to date
  • Internal point of contact for material availability queries
  • Closing off works orders
  • Liaising with stakeholders on firm order amendments
  • Actively support and champion our Team Swift ethos and EPIC core values.
  • Be familiar with, and adhere to, company policies and procedures.
  • Meet your health & safety responsibilities and co-operate with management to achieve a healthy and safe workplace, taking reasonable care of yourself and others.
  • Be flexible with approach to the delivery of projects, understanding the challenges faced in different environments within the organisation, which on the whole are fast paced and demanding

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience within a fast paced environment, preferably in manufacturing
  • Excellent administration skills with a high standard of attention to detail.
  • Strong IT and Social Media skills (Word, Excel, Facebook, Linked In, Instagram etc).
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to 'think on your feet' using your own initiative and manage stakeholders.
  • Hard-working, organised and punctual with an accurate and consistent performance
  • Able to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions
  • A collaborative attitude who is keen to learn and bring ideas to the team
