THE OPPORTUNITY
Holiday Home Jigger
We are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Technician - Jigger to join our team here at Swift Group within our Furniture Manufacture department.
These roles will be responsible for the timber framing of the product within the manufacturing department.
They will be part of a team of assemblers working to drawings and deadlines, producing a quality and accurate timber frame to be used in the assembly of Holiday Homes.
The ideal candidate will be a good all-rounder who has some experience in the Caravan/Motorhome or similar industry or be willing to learn.
We are looking for somebody who is committed, dedicated and focused on achieving results at the highest of standard.
Although experience of working in the Caravan/Motorhome industry is preferred we will consider applications from other industries providing you can demonstrate the right skills.
- MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform operator self-inspection on parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and report any defects or malfunctions.
- Read and interpret production work orders, SOPs and technical drawings.
- Follow standardised work instructions and participate in continuous improvement initiatives (e. g., Kaizen, 5S, Lean Manufacturing).
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and identification of parts and tools.
- Maintain a clean and organised workstation in accordance with safety and housekeeping standards.
- Participate in daily team meetings to review targets, safety concerns, and improvement opportunities.
- Operate equipment or machinery as needed if suitably trained, such as edging machines and trimmers.
- Ensuring production targets are met working to schedule and timescales;
- Read and understand drawings when producing products;
- Deliver high standard of work to ensure quality targets are met;
- Communicate effectively with team members and leaders and work collaboratively with all stakeholders in the business;
- Attend additional training when needed;
- Adhere to Swift Group policies and procedures and be an advocate and champion our EPIC Core Values.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience in timber framing preferred however, it is not mandatory as training will be given;
- Must have the ability to work in a fast paced and physically demanding manufacturing environment;
- Strong attention to detail skills with a commitment to achieve excellent quality products;
- Have the ability to read and understand technical documents, drawings and instructions;
- Be respectful, confident and flexible in line with our EPIC Core Values;
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team;
- Be driven to succeed and be willing to ask for help when needed;
- Be familiar with using hand/power tools;
- Must be able to deliver consistently under pressure;
- Willingness to work overtime when required to meet targets.
