Swift Group is looking for a Logistics Team Leader to join our team and play a key role in ensuring materials are stored, controlled and delivered to our production teams safely, efficiently and on time.
This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of key logistics operations within a leading UK caravan manufacturer, working closely with production and wider management teams to keep our manufacturing process moving.
The Role
As a Logistics Team Leader, you will be responsible for managing, supervising and controlling the storage, movement and distribution of materials across your areas of responsibility. You'll ensure that materials are received in good condition and delivered to the correct location, in the right quantity and at the right time, ensuring our production teams have everything they need to manufacture our products efficiently. You'll also take responsibility for the management, performance and safety of employees within your team, ensuring all company policies and legislative requirements are followed.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Designated unit storage areas
- Unit entrances, exits and walkways within Stores and Logistics areas
- Production line logistics areas
- Material storage locations
- Investigations into production material shortages and deficiencies
- Chassis crane operations
- Returnable Transit Packaging (RTP)
- Returnable stores and stock
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and manage employees within your area of responsibility, providing direction, support and effective supervision.
- Ensure Health & Safety compliance is maintained at all times.
- Control and coordinate your designated logistics areas to ensure an efficient flow of materials.
- Manage and control the supply of all commodities required by production to support the manufacture and construction of Swift products.
- Investigate and resolve material discrepancies, complaints and supply chain issues, ensuring problems are followed through to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Work closely with colleagues, production teams and management to identify and resolve logistical challenges.
- Support and develop your team, providing guidance and assistance across all areas of logistics.
- Work collaboratively with fellow Team Leaders and support wider logistics operations where required.
- Carry out duties and responsibilities as directed by management.
- Ensure decisions and actions are always aligned with the best interests of Swift Group.

- Previous experience in a logistics, warehouse, stores or manufacturing environment.
- Experience of supervising or leading a team.
- A strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
- Excellent organisational and coordination skills.
- The ability to prioritise work and respond effectively to changing production requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and investigative skills.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to work with colleagues across different areas of the business.
