Team Swift are recruiting for CAD Design Engineers who will be responsible for the development and maintenance of manufacturing drawings and support data, ensuring that new drawings and updates meet the full aspirations of the Company and its customers. The ideal candidates will be creative and innovative individuals who have experience using CAD and who have worked within the caravan or similar furniture, kitchen or bathroom industry. The Product Development department generates and maintains engineering drawings and bill of materials for every model, with hundreds of drawings created, modified and issued every week.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES- To ensure all CAD drawings and its supporting information is produced and maintained to the highest standard and within the agreed timescales.
- To be a valued member of the CAD Group by generating ideas and suggestions to help ensure that the full benefits of the CAD packages are maximised for both product and process improvements.
- Provide highly detailed CAD designs and drawings which offer innovative solutions to address the underlying issues of weight, cost and complexity, thereby enhancing the Company’s reputation for technical leadership.
- To update and maintain drawings in a clear and simple format that does not detract from the original design intent.
- Meet strict timescale and cost targets.
- Ensure that products and modules comply with the required legislation and type approval requirements at all times.
- Accurately assess the impacts of change and communicate accordingly.
- Support meetings with attendance and reports as required.
- Compliance with Health & Safety requirements.
- Qualified in the use of CAD, or experience of CAD drawings within a drawing office.
- Knowledge of caravan or similar furniture construction, materials & engineering practices in the industry.
- Knowledge of BOMS.
- Experience of using engineering change (MIR) systems.
- Has an understanding and interest in technical advances in some relevant areas such as new materials and weight savings.
- Ability to work well under pressure to achieve deadlines.
- Good problem-solving skills, being able to analyse problems and establish the root cause providing robust solutions.
- High level of accuracy in work and strong attention to detail.
- Flexible, adaptable, enthusiastic and motivated.
- Strong verbal & written communication skills.
