THE OPPORTUNITY

  • Assembly Technician
  • Team Swift is seeking a number of

Assembly Technicians to work across 3 different product streams including Touring Caravans, Motorhomes and Holiday Homes in various different roles.

They will be responsible for assembling components into vehicles in a large production facility in accordance with standardised work procedures, safety guidelines, and established quality standards.

These roles involve working with hand and power tools, operating equipment, inspecting work for accuracy, and collaborating with other team members to ensure efficient and timely production of high-quality vehicles.

You will have the opportunity to be part of the growing popularity of the British staycation and work within a fast-paced, EPIC, dynamic and modern manufacturing environment.

The role reports directly to the Production Managers and will be within Cab Shop and Assembly.

  • MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assemble parts and components and electrical harnesses following standard operating procedures.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and pneumatic tools to complete tasks safely and accurately.
  • Perform operator self-inspection on parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and report any defects or malfunctions.
  • Read and interpret production work orders, SOPs and technical drawings.
  • Follow standardised work instructions and participate in continuous improvement initiatives (e. g., Kaizen, 5S, Lean Manufacturing).
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and identification of parts and tools.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workstation in accordance with safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Participate in daily team meetings to review targets, safety concerns, and improvement opportunities.
  • Operate equipment or machinery as needed, such as cranes and hydraulic vehicle lifts.
  • Document required data, including activities and any non-conformances.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist with training of new employees as needed, through a buddy style system.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience is desirable but not essential as training will be given.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding production environment.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents, drawings and instructions.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work overtime when required to meet targets.
