Swift Education is working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in East London to recruit a skilled and versatile Design & Technology Teacher with the ability to teach GCSE Food Technology. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking department on a 0.8 FTE basis (with the potential for full-time if an additional subject can be offered) on a fixed-term contract starting in September.
The Role:
- Teach Design & Technology across Key Stages, with a strong focus on Food Technology up to GCSE level
- Deliver engaging, practical, and theory-based lessons that inspire student interest and achievement
- Plan, prepare, and assess in line with curriculum requirements
- Contribute to the wider DT curriculum and departmental development
- Maintain a safe and effective learning environment, particularly within practical settings
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience in the UK
- Proven ability to teach Food Technology up to GCSE level
- Versatility across Design & Technology disciplines
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills
- Ability to offer an additional subject (desirable for full-time applicants)
