About the Assignment
Swift Analytics is looking for a capable and delivery-focused Azure SQL Data Engineer to support the build of a greenfield Azure SQL Data Warehouse solution. Working alongside the Lead Data Architect, you will contribute to the design, development and deployment of robust data pipelines and warehouse structures using Microsoft Azure technologies.
This role is well suited to a mid-level engineer who is confident working independently whilst taking technical direction from senior architects and project leads.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Azure-based data integration and transformation pipelines.
- Build and support data warehouse solutions using Azure SQL and Database Projects.
- Support data modelling and warehouse implementation activities.
- Work alongside architects and senior consultants to implement best-practice solutions.
- Participate in peer reviews, testing and quality assurance activities.
- Support CI/CD processes through Azure DevOps.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the data platform.
- Engage with stakeholders and technical teams to understand requirements and provide feedback on delivery options.
- Produce technical documentation and implementation notes.
About You
You are a motivated and technically capable Azure Data Engineer who enjoys building quality solutions and working within collaborative delivery teams. You are comfortable engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, take pride in producing clean, maintainable solutions, and are keen to contribute to the successful delivery of modern Azure data platforms.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, and Azure DevOps.
- Experience building and supporting data warehouse environments.
- Experience delivering scalable and maintainable meta driven data flow solutions.
- Knowledge of CI/CD principles and source control.
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience developing datasets in Power BI.
- Data modelling and warehouse design concepts.
- Exposure to architecture frameworks and technical design processes.
- Consultancy or client-facing delivery experience.
- Public sector or regulated environment experience.
- Current or previous UK Security Clearance (SC), or the ability to obtain security clearance.
