At Morning Star, education is their passion and through living their vision of ‘learning together, achieving together’ they encourage children to be the best versions of themselves; keeping them at the forefront of everything they do. They believe their practitioners are there to guide each child’s learning so they can grow in confidence to become independent learners of life and eventually successful global citizens. They enable curiosities to be explored so learning is always fun resulting in many children leaving their care with a passion they carry with them through the rest of their compulsory education journey and indeed their lives.

Because they are a family run business, all children, caregivers and staff are seen as an extension of their family, something they pride themselves on and their service users appreciate and often comment on when moving on from or returning to their care. They know children learn best when everyone works together and see their parents and caregivers as partners encouraging them to be active in their child’s learning journey. Working with caregivers in this way is a standard that allows them to achieve most of Morning Star’s aims and objectives.

The main responsibilities of this job role will include:

  • Working towards Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship.
  • Supporting the development of the childcare provision.
  • Providing an excellent range of activities that ensures that the child learns whilst having fun.
  • Being a team player.
  • Providing challenging and stimulating activities for all children.
  • Taking part in First Aid training as required.
  • Responsibility for equal opportunity in delivery, access and attitude in aspects of service delivery.
  • Working with teams across the nursery setting.
  • Supporting children’s learning and development.
  • Preparing and maintaining the environment and resources for the children.
  • Preparation of food for breakfast, snack and afternoon tea.
  • Supporting children’s self-help needs.
  • Being creative and enthusiastic.
  • Following Safeguarding rules and regulations to also meet the Standard of the Childcare Apprenticeship.

Your Apprenticeship will last for 14 months. You will be supported by Lead Support Coaches throughout your Apprenticeship, as well as a mentor within the nursery. You will be working full time in the nursery. Your classroom days will be based online as a remote session which you will need to be fully available for, and your main childcare apprenticeship work will be done in a nursery local to you.
