Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Dispatch Manager to take ownership of outbound operations. You will be responsible for managing supervisors and dispatch staff, ensuring orders are processed accurately, on time, and in line with service agreements. The role requires a proactive leader who can maintain standards, streamline processes, and support continuous improvement.

Main Duties

  • Oversee daily dispatch operations and stock movements leaving the site.
  • Work with supervisors to implement and maintain clear operational procedures.
  • Act as the key point of contact for internal teams and external carriers regarding dispatch matters.
  • Ensure carrier capacity is planned effectively and dispatch manifests are completed without error.
  • Plan and adjust staffing levels in line with demand and forecasts.
  • Manage consumables and packaging levels with the wider management team.
  • Lead regular team briefings, training, and updates to maintain compliance and performance.
  • Keep training records up to date and carry out spot checks on processes.
  • Motivate and develop the team to create a skilled and engaged workforce.
  • Play an active role in management meetings and contribute to business improvements.

  • Proven leadership experience in dispatch, logistics, or warehouse operations.
  • Strong track record of creating and maintaining standard procedures.
  • Good knowledge of health & safety and compliance in a warehouse environment.
  • Comfortable making data-driven decisions in a fast-moving setting.
