The Central Kitchen Van Driver is responsible for delivering food and supplies based on the daily menu and meal counts provided by the Central Kitchen Operations Manager. This position requires physical activity, including lifting, carrying, and handling bulk food and cases up to 100 pounds, as well as operating cargo vans in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Class D License with For-Hire Endorsement: Must possess a Class D license.
- Safe Driving: Drive van routes assigned in a safe and defensive manner, adhering to all traffic laws and agency guidelines.
- Loading and Delivering: Load cargo van with the necessary food and supplies for assigned routes, and deliver meals and supplies as required.
- Meal and Supply Orders: Collect meal and supply orders from meal site coordinators and transfer the information to appropriate forms.
- Vehicle and Equipment Maintenance: Clean and sanitize food carriers daily, maintain the cleanliness of the van inside and out, and perform basic vehicle maintenance as needed.
- Kitchen Assistance: Assist with cleaning the kitchen as needed.
- Professionalism: Arrive at work on time, maintain professionalism, and report any emergencies directly to the Maintenance and Distribution Supervisor and Kitchen Operations Manager in advance of the regular starting time.
- Positive Attitude: Display a friendly and positive attitude towards job duties and other employees, and complete tasks willingly and without complaints.
- Compliance: Abide by agency rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and the personnel policy manual.
- Miscellaneous Duties: Perform other related duties as required.
