What will you be doing?
- Support and lead on technical discussions with the software team at the client to establish which of the activities undertaken on a project meet the R&D tax criteria as set out in the DSIT guidelines.
- Prepare and review technical reports and presentations for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Lead and coordinate on R&D tax engagements, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outputs
- Analyse complex issues and provide well-reasoned solutions to clients and team members
- Stay abreast of changes in UK tax legislation, particularly those related to R&D tax credits
- Manage and mentor junior team members, overseeing their work and professional development
- Liaise with HMRC and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients when necessary
- Contribute to the development of new service offerings and methodologies in R&D tax
- Collaborate with other departments to provide comprehensive tax solutions to clients
- Ensure compliance with internal quality control procedures and professional standards
To be successful in this role, you should have
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
- Previous experience in R&D tax field Proven experience in managing projects and teams
- Advanced knowledge of UK tax laws and regulations, particularly those related to R&D
- Expertise in UK tax legislation and HMRC guidelines
- Proficiency in tax research software and databases
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
