SWG Construction (Build & renovate) Ltd is a growing regional contractor delivering refurbishment, maintenance and new-build projects across North Wales, Mid Wales, the West Midlands and neighbouring English regions.
We are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility for projects across our North Wales portfolio. This role is focused on projects primarily along the A55 corridor, and we are open to candidates based anywhere across North Wales.
Our work includes refurbishment, maintenance and new-build projects across a range of sectors, including public sector and negotiated contracts. The successful candidate will take ownership of the commercial performance of their projects while working closely with Contracts Managers, site teams and a commercially focused senior team.
The role
You will be responsible for the commercial management of assigned projects from award through to final account, including:
- producing and managing CVRs, cost forecasts and cashflow reports
- procuring subcontractors and managing subcontract accounts
- pricing, submitting and agreeing variations and additional works
- preparing interim applications and final accounts
- monitoring costs, managing risk and identifying commercial opportunities
- working closely with Contracts Managers and site teams to improve project performance
- providing clear and accurate commercial reporting to the Commercial Manager and Directors
What we are looking for
- Previous experience in a Senior QS role, or as a Quantity Surveyor, ready to step up
- a qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- good experience in refurbishment, maintenance and new-build projects
- strong CVR, forecasting and cost control skills
- experience in subcontract procurement and subcontract account management
- experience administering JCT contracts. NEC experience would be useful, but is not essential
- Strong Excel and general IT skills
- a full UK driving licence
