Swegon Air Management Ltd. have an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager to join their team. The perfect candidate will be able to provide a strategic customer focus, with the ability to understand market trends and ultimately support sales growth through the development and diversification of its product base through its lifecycle.
We are looking for a strategic individual with a collaborative approach that has the ability to continue the development of our world class product portfolio, by leading the industry with innovation and safety.This role will be based out of our site in Whitstable in Kent.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Managing Director, this role is required to take overall responsibility for the success of the Smoke and Fire Business Unit products. The incumbent will be the key point of contact for market insight, opinion and data from stakeholders within the business to establish roadmaps and strategies to exploit opportunities.
Working as the primary stakeholder in cross-functional collaborative projects, the role holder will support all aspects of product lifecycle management, including product & market research, competitive analysis, planning, positioning, roadmap development, and new product implementation.
There will be a requirement to identify and maximise opportunities to develop solutions with partner suppliers, building business cases to qualify the opportunities into product innovation and growth of sales. Success in this position will need collaboration with stakeholders across departments and Business Units in the UK and wider Swegon Group to strategise, share knowledge and best practice.
As a leader within our business, the role holder will be an ambassador for the Smoke & Fire Business Unit and be the key representative at trade events and with industry related bodies, host customer test days and run training sessions. The role must identify potential acquisition opportunities that would strengthen the Smoke & Fire market position and product offering.
Required Knowledge and Experience
- Robust knowledge of the HVAC industry, with experience of working with HVAC products, process, development or innovation.
- Development of HVAC products through the product lifecycle and experience of entering them into the market.
- Technical product knowledge, including familiarity with HVAC systems in the Smoke & Fire control and compartmentation sectors, such as compartmentation dampers, smoke control dampers, and control systems.
- Experience of data analysis, demand forecasting, and financial modelling to assess product viability and performance.
