PURPOSE OF POST: To work as part of a team providing high-quality care and support to Clients to remain independent in their own homes. To develop the quality assurance within the service whilst ensuring they remain compliant with all regulations and the mission, values of the organisation are upheld.

CLIENT GROUP: Clients of the Brain injury, Neurological conditions, Spinal and Neurodevelopmental services

RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of Compliance and Quality Assurance, Specialist Services Director

PRINCIPAL DUTIES MAY INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:

  • To work closely with the Head of Compliance and Quality Assurance and Specialist Services Director to ensure the smooth running of the Specialist Services.
  • To participate in the recruitment and training of the support workers. Specifically, support those new to care packages or who need extra support due to previous concerns.
  • Conduct 1:1 meetings, facilitation's and annual appraisals for support workers when required.
  • To work with the Head of Service & Support Managers regarding the quality of care being delivered in line with specific actions based on feedback information.
  • To complete sign off for new care packages and introduce staff to new/existing packages.
  • To carry out client reviews, update assessment and care plans.
  • To develop links with other professionals and work closely with social services, case managers and other professional services to successfully manage our care packages.
  • Work with support workers in training/workshop structure when patterns of poor-quality care have been highlighted.
  • Maintain and develop quality assurance systems and ensure quality of care services, policies and procedures are reviewed, maintained and measured at all times.
  • Act as a main point of contact for the service during any compliance and quality assurance issues or visits.
  • To carry out annual Quality Assurance reviews with clients.
  • Responsible for overseeing New starter checks, Care Certificate and Probation reviews for new support workers.
  • Responsible for overseeing auditing of Daily Support Records, Emar, support plans and escalating any concerns to the Support Manager.
  • To assist the Manager in performing interviews and take a leading role in cross-service interviews, as required.
  • To oversee the successful completion of compliance processes across the services (e.g. lateness management).
  • Collaborate with training department to ensure Support worker training is in line with service needs.
  • Support with any safeguarding concerns.
  • Support with any complaints and investigations regarding service delivery.
  • Work with Registered Manager/Specialist service Director/ Head of to ensure service provision is in line with CQC guidelines.
  • Undertake any other duties reasonably requested in line with the scope of the role.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential:

  • Experience working with those with Brain injury, Neurological conditions, Spinal and Neurodevelopmental and Physical needs.
  • Experience of working in a team within a pressurised, fast changing environment.
  • Good understanding of Key Quality checkers.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of CQC guidelines.
  • Experience of working in the community and understanding the challenges faced.
  • A relevant administrative/IT qualification.
  • A doer type attitude that does not shirk away from challenges.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate a remote workforce.
  • Experience of working positively in a diverse environment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and tactfully at different levels, both verbally and in writing.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Working hours will be 37.5 weekly. Terms and conditions of employment are as per your employment contract and staff handbook.
