Job Summary
The Queensgate Hotel is one of Peterborough\’s leading independent hotels. We require 2 housekeepers to join our small team in the centre of Peterborough. The role involves cleaning and servicing guest bedrooms to a high standard, Hours of work are between 9:30am and 3:30pm on any 3 to 5 days from 7. Usually you will get every second weekend off, however flexibility of working is one of the things that will stand candidates in better stead.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our housekeeping team in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hospitality within our establishment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in housekeeping management, with experience in hotel or hospitality settings. This role requires excellent leadership skills, a commitment to quality service, and the ability to train and motivate staff.

Duties

  • Oversee daily housekeeping operations, ensuring all areas are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards.
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate housekeeping staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary to maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.
  • Address guest inquiries and concerns regarding cleanliness promptly and professionally.
  • Implement effective cleaning protocols for various surfaces including floor care, industrial cleaning, and custodial tasks.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in housekeeping management or a similar supervisory role within the hospitality or hotel industry.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment used in hotel or industrial cleaning environments.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed.
