About the Role We are hiring for the HGV Technicianto join our busy Midlands depot.
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, inspection, and repair of HGVs and mechanical road sweepers, ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant, and operational at all times.
Covering the Midlands region, you will work closely with the Workshop Manager and wider operational teams to diagnose faults, carry out preventative maintenance, prepare vehicles for MOT, and provide breakdown and call-out support when required.
The role involves both workshop-based and mobile maintenance activities, ensuring vehicles across the fleet are maintained to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and safety inspections to HGVs, trailers and mechanical road sweepers Complete scheduled preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer and company standards.
Perform MOT preparation and pre-annual test inspections.
Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults.
Identify root causes of vehicle defects efficiently and accurately.
Carry out repairs on company assets as directed - (but not limited to) engines, gearboxes, clutches, braking systems, suspension steering and electrical systems.
Repair/replace worn or defective parts and components.
Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within allocated timeframes.
Accurately complete job cards, inspection sheets and maintenance records.
Ensure all work complies with DVSA regulations and company policies.
