Sweeptech is seeking a full-time skilled and dedicated HGV Technician to join our South-East workshop team, playing a vital role in maintaining the safety, reliability, and performance of its fleet. Supporting the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality environmental services, this role contributes directly to safer operations and more sustainable communities. You will be responsible for ensuring all vehicles and equipment are maintained to the highest standards, in line with regulatory requirements and Sweeptech’s strong focus on integrity, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Tasks/Duties

  • Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and safety inspections to HGVs, trailers and mechanical road sweepers.
  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer and company standards.
  • Opportunity to be on the on-call Rota.
  • Perform MOT preparation and pre-annual test inspections.
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults.
  • Identify root causes of vehicle defects efficiently and accurately.
  • Carry out repairs on company assets as directed - (but not limited to) engines, gearboxes, clutches, braking systems, suspension steering and electrical systems.
  • Repair/replace worn or defective parts and components.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within allocated timeframes.
  • Accurately complete job cards, inspection sheets and maintenance records.
  • Ensure all work complies with DVSA regulations and company policies.
