The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Hire Controller to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the hire desk based at our Heathrow Depot. This role supports operational delivery across Heathrow, London, and East London. You will coordinate bookings, manage fleet scheduling, and ensure excellent service for both internal teams and external customers. This is a critical role in maintaining the smooth operation of our field services. Key Responsibilities Manage hire desk operations and respond to customer enquiries via phone and email Schedule and prepare daily work for drivers, including detailed debriefs at the end of each shift Complete ownership of the P&L Accurately book and update job information in company systems Communicate with customers regarding service updates or operational issues Check completed work against bookings to support accurate invoicing Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental standards Provide operational support to drivers across our sweeper, tanker, and CCTV divisions Support reporting, training, toolbox talks and new starter inductions Work closely with depot management to support day-to-day operational efficiency What We\’re Looking For Strong communication skills and a confident, professional approach with customers and teams High attention to detail and ability to manage time and workload effectively Computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Organised, proactive and adaptable to changing demands A good understanding of operational processes and a focus on continuous improvement Desirable Previous experience in a logistics, waste, or transport environment Familiarity with safety standards and compliance within an operational setting What We Offer Company pension scheme Free parking at depot Discounted or free on-site food Opportunities to develop within a growing, values-driven business Location This role is based at our Heathrow Depot and covers operations across Heathrow, London, and East London.
